Allison Guilbault
this is the yes, I am too much™ revolution
Therapy is about to look a whole lot different.

I want to start by saying I am not your typical therapist.
If you are craving someone who will blank stare at you while wearing pearls and a cardigan and ask you how that makes you feel, I am probably not the gal for you.
I am backed by four degrees in psychology, brain science, and human behavior, and my clinical work has spanned some of the most demanding rooms in the field, including NYU, Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York Presbyterian, Planned Parenthood, solitary confinement at Rikers Island, post-civil war Sri Lanka, and the FBI.
But that is not what you need to know about me.
What you need to know about me is that I approach mental health and your personal wellbeing from a very different angle, because I believe most women who are quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self doubt, and trauma would benefit from reconnecting to their pleasure, power, desire, abundance, and freedom; and I know those things work gloriously alongside traditional therapy and coping skills, not instead of them.
Where you are right now is a culmination of everything you have done, survived, accomplished, feared, and longed for, and that is pretty badass.
The problem is that nobody warned you what would happen on the other side of getting it all. Nobody told you that you would build the life, check the boxes, raise the children, hold the marriage, run the business, hit the milestones, and then find yourself at forty two staring at the ceiling at two in the morning wondering if this is actually it. Nobody taught you how to want more without feeling ungrateful, how to change course without feeling irresponsible, or how to admit, even just to yourself, that the woman you have been performing is not the woman you actually are.
That is where I come in. My zone of genius is helping women reconnect to the clarity, desire and freedom it takes to know what they actually want and the confidence it takes to go and get it.
This work is rooted in my signature approach, Yes, I Am Too Much™, which is the radical position that your worth was never tied to your productivity, that you are not too old, that it is not too late, and that being fully embodied, fully alive, and fully yourself is not a luxury you have to earn. It is the work itself.
Most of the logistical questions about working with me can be answered here. Beyond that, I offer every potential client a free twenty minute consultation. It is a chance to ask anything that did not get answered, and it is a chance for us to do a vibe check, because I believe a good therapeutic relationship is less about credentials and more about whether a woman feels she has finally found someone who actually gets her.

MY THERAPY SPECIALTIES ARE:
Anxiety
I help women find peace from the bully in their brain.
Most therapy is going to tell you the same things about anxiety. It will tell you to breathe, to ground yourself, to name five things you can see, to drink more water, and to go for a walk. All of it is useful, and none of it is enough, because your anxiety is not a breathing problem.
Your anxiety is the very logical end result of a lifetime of being rewarded for performing, preempting, and pleasing, and then being told to relax.
In our sessions we get into why your brain learned to scan for danger, why rest feels like something you have to earn, and why it has become so hard for you to even know what you want anymore.
With clinical skill and compassionate curiosity, we get to the root of what has been keeping you up at night, so we can kick the skeletons out for good.
We quiet the noise in your head and bring clear thinking and grounded confidence and peace in your mind back in the spotlight.

Trauma

The women I work with in trauma therapy are not always the women you would expect. What they are carrying does not always have one name, one moment, or one clean origin story.
Trauma does not live in your mind alone. It lives in your breath, your body, your relationships, your silence, your hypervigilance, and the way you constantly brace for impact.
Real trauma work is not about revisiting the past so you can live in it again. It is about going back to retrieve the parts of yourself that got lost in it, and bringing them home.
It is about teaching your body, slowly and compassionately, that it is allowed to rest, allowed to feel, and allowed to receive. It is about helping you build a life that is no longer organized around what happened to you, but building a life from within you.
Sex & Intimacy
I provide sex therapy for women (all women) who are done carrying shame, done faking it, and ready to find freedom in their bodies, in their pleasure, in their ability to enjoy sexual and intimate relationships.
Whether you are untangling religious conditioning, dropping out of purity culture, navigating desire inside a long term relationship, healing after trauma, or just craving a deeper connection with your sensual self, I am here for all of it.
In our sessions, there is nothing that is off the table. We get into the fantasies you have been swallowing, the porn you have been hiding, the orgasms you have been missing and reprogram your brain to drop the shame, guilt and fear in favor of passion, confidence and exploration.
We bring pleasure, desire, sovereignty, and power back online, and we build a relationship with your erotic self that is finally, fully, and unapologetically yours.
